Finding Your Perfect Wedding PaletteFinding the colors for your wedding is probably one of the first things you want to consider...yes, ladies, even before the dress! Whatever colors you and your groom choose to express yourselves should be reflected throughout your wedding: the flowers, location, invitations, and favors to name a few. If you’re going for a mellow, no-fuss event, you probably aren’t going to want rich colors and metallics to play a role at your reception. And if you want the decadence of deep reds and purples, something might seem “off” about a linen wedding gown with spaghetti straps. So here are some great tips on finding your perfect wedding palette: Location, Location, Location If you know in what area you want your nuptials to be held, what colors are represented there? If it’s all about the beach, sun, and surf on your wedding day, try looking at tropical colors. Aquamarine is hot right now and goes well with so many colors. You could add some funk with orange, some feminine with pink, or even some country with red. Is it a garden with lots of pastels? Is it the city where gold and contemporary amalgams like mocha and chartreuse fit? What about the mountains where sage and rosemary are not only natively grown, but a great romantic color combo?
Tis the Season Season can play a big role in the wedding, and not just for the obvious reasons. This could be a great color decision-maker for bargain brides. The produce and flowers that are available in a certain season usually dictate the palette of that season, and are also easier to find for a deal. For instance, when pumpkins and squash are sprouting in everyone’s gardens, it’s easiest to go with flowers like yellow Marigold or red Zinnias. In the white winter wonderlands, the most cost effective flowers are going to be things like red or white Amaryllis, Poinsettia, and white Star of Bethlehem. They are both back to the hair they were born with now, but they thought that would make the perfect personal touch on their wedding day to combine two complimentary souls surrounded by the combination of these two complimentary colors. Ultimately, we are talking your entire event theme here, so it’s wise to at least figure out a few great possibilities before the search begins for anything else.
